Bird Droppings: Your Links for April 1st

I know it's April Fool's day, but here at BWA we take things seriously, so no fake "Lemieux benches Cooke" stories.

Thrashers News:

No, really - not April Fool's. The Thrashers beat the Flyers 1-0 in a 43 save shutout for Chris Mason. Here's the NHL.com recap, Chris Vivlamore's, and mine at SB Nation Atlanta.

Craig Ramsay is planning on rotating the goalies out so "everyone can play." I have my own opinions on that (to come later), but after Mason's play last night, how do you NOT start him in Boston on Saturday?

God, Winnipeg. Just let. It. Go.

NHL News:

The Thrashers gave the Canucks another hand last night - the Flyers' loss helped Vancouver clinch the President's Trophy. Careful, there, Canucks... that thing comes tainted with playoff failure. Ask Washington and St. Louis.

Speaking of teams staying alive to fight one more day, Toronto beat Boston 4-3 in a shootout, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Talk about truculence.

Finally, in more lopsided score news, the Islanders took out the Rangers 6-2. Good lord.

Nucks Misconduct takes a look at an interview with rumored Thrashers investor Anson Carter.

Glendale has buyers for half of the city's bonds. Is GWI satisfied? Nooooo. Of course not.

The Senators signed big-time sought after college free agent Stephane De Costa. Silver Seven Sens has analysis.

Today's video is one of those "History Will Be Made Ones." I think it's in the right direction for these ads:

Ok, fine, that last one was an April Fool's - it's not the NHL's, it's from Bloge Salming. It's still pretty damn outstanding, though.
