Just a quickie this Super Bowl Sunday - I'm still too irritated to write a recap of last night's game, or really have any meaningful discussion on it whatsoever (though I was pleasantly surprised by Zach Bogosian and Brent Sopel's goals, and I hope that Niclas Bergfors isn't playing better just to be turned into trade-bait - this team needs folks who can score). Reader Black Ice in Alabama sent these two duelin' Twitter perspectives from Dan Kamal and John Kincade over to me last night after the game, and I was curious to see your perspective on them.
Both gentlemen have a point - the team has been playing better of late, and trying - if not for the awful record recently, neither loss would have been frustrating. But on the flip side, moral victories don't get you home ice in the playoffs. Or in the Thrashers' case, even into the playoffs.
What I saw tonight from ATL leaves me extremely optimistic the Thrashers are primed to make a strong run. Hopefully, it begins Monday
Thrashers did have some positives, but enough of the moral victories stuff. They do little for the fan base. The game is about winning.
