Ben Eager Traded

This just came out, it is on the NHL and Thrashers website...

The Atlanta Thrashers have traded gritty forward Ben Eager to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2011. Eager, 26, competed in 34 games for the Thrashers this season while contributing with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and 77 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 235-pound forward, added two multiple-point games on Oct. 9 at Tampa Bay and Nov. 19 vs. Washington. The Ottawa, Ontario, native has totaled 62 points (30 goals, 32 assists) in 289 career NHL games with Philadelphia (2005-06 to 2007-08), Chicago (2007-08 to 2009-10) and Atlanta (2010-11).

Looks as if he never got out of Craig Ramsey's chez woof woof, especially after the hit to Colby Armstrong. Probably a good move for the Thrashers, it frees up some cap space and also gives them so more leverage for the Trade deadline and beyond. Should help out the Sharks down the road also, but that's another story.
