Atlanta Thrashers Take Down Detroit Red Wings, 5-1

New, 4 comments

First they took down the best of the East, now they've beaten the best of the West.

Regular season wins don't come much bigger than this. This was a total team effort.

Alternate Three Stars:

1) Ondrej Pavelec

Saved 32 of 33, some in astounding fashion.

2) The Evander Kane/Bryan Little/Anthony Stewart Line

This line played some tough minutes (more DZ face-offs than any other line), and still managed to put a combined 9 shots on goal. Tons of pressure generated by these three.

3) Rich Peverley

1A, +1, 3SOG, 4 Takeaways, +6 CORSI - Rich was all kinds of hustle tonight.

Two more "Sorta Stats" that help tell the story:

Hits
ATL - 18
DET - 11

Takeaways
ATL - 20
DET - 7

These stats may be on the subjective side, but it's a rare occasion Atlanta comes out on top of these numbers, especially against a team like Detroit. The Thrashers just wanted it more.

Happy birthday to Timmy, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
