A Quick Hello (and Introduction)

New, 4 comments

Hello everybody!

I'm new around here, so I thought I'd take a few hundred words and introduce myself. You may know me from my other blog, Thrashing About. My name is Tim Fabiniak, and yes, I write under my real name on the internet. (Scary, huh?) I am what is commonly referred to as a "non-traditional hockey fan." While I lived most of my early life in beautiful Buffalo, New York, I wasn't a big hockey fan until I came to Atlanta.

Yes, I'm a northern transplant who fell in love with the Thrashers.

I didn't start going to games until after the lockout, but I quickly discovered a love for the game. Since then, I've been to around 30 home games every year. I have season tickets in section 116 and you've probably seen me before at games... even if you didn't know it; I've appeared in a few video montages and such.

I'm a math nerd at heart, so most of my analysis will involve a fair bit of statistics and graphs. While you can't explain every aspect of hockey with pretty pictures, it certainly won't stop me from trying!

While I enjoyed blogging on my own site, when The Falconer approached me and asked if I'd be interested in joining him here at SB Nation, it was an easy decision. Plan on seeing content from me in the near future. Until then, here's a few quick-hits of information:

  • Favorite Thrasher: Colby Armstrong
  • Favorite Philips Arena Food: Wetzel's Pretzels
  • Favorite Way to Heckle Officials: "Get off your knees, ref, you're blowing the game!"
Thank God the season begins soon.
