I particular like the closing paragraphs in this article, talking about the awkwardness of the last few days of practice since it was announced Ilya would be traded.

Bottom line is, if he really did want to be here, then it would have already been done. He wants to go elsewhere and it seems he learned a valuable lesson from the Heatley departure in how NOT to handle an internal desire to leave a team/city you no longer want to play for.

Ben Wright recently sat down with Mad Max for a Q&A.

Great player AND he's dating Elena Dementieva. Max, you are living my life.

There is a poll at the bottom right of the page I linked. Vote so FUCK DETROIT doesn't get their game vs. the flames broadcasted over your game vs. the hurricanes.

Ilya Kovalchuk has just taken the practice ice for the Thrashers. The captain, who suffered a broken bone in his foot less than three weeks ago, is dressed and skating... He was expected to miss four to six weeks after the injury.

Just a lil something I thought you guys might enjoy reading. Also claims the Thrashers might be up for sale, attributing that only to rumor.

Lets get the Leafs into a division where they may actually have a chance to sniff the playoffs. This would have to be the SouthLEAST division. Home of lowly teams like Washington, Carolina, Florida, and Tampa Bay. The only difference between those teams and the Leafs is that they have been in the Stanley Cup Finals in the last 30 years.

As a fan of good hockey I love watching Nick Lidstrom play. He's amazingly effective when you consider that he rarely hits anyone (he's like a rec league style defensemen times 1,000). I'm even more impressed that he returned to the playoffs after nearly loosing one of his two marbles. Then again, "He's a hockey player."

Atlanta Thrashers PSA - Don't Make Bad Commercials (via Jefflered)

Hilarious PSA put out by the team. Hats off to great marketing. Oh, and the web site doesn't work - they dropped the ball on that one.
