It turns out Gary Bettman can save a team if he actually gives a rip

"We are pleased to announce that our strategy of sacrificing the Thrashers to save the Coyotes has been successful. I view this as a big personal victory, given the hours I spent in Phoenix trying to save the team. It is a good thing I didn’t bother spend any time in Atlanta or this day might not have been possible.

Now we call on Phoenix fans to actually attend the game in greater numbers than the Thrashers fans who in their last 2 terrible seasons drew more fans than any of the last three playoff teams in Phoenix have.

Thanks to all of you who made this possible, namely Atlanta fans for taking it up the rear, and myself for saving the team I actually cared about."

Proof once again, it is better to be owned by nobody than to be owned by Atlanta Spirit.

Thanks again Commissioner Bettman for approving the sale of the team to a group that didn't even want them, and ran the team accordingly.

Now to go watch my adopted team be eliminated by the team that the Thrashers were screwed over to save. Worst day since the sale went through.
