Kubina Back to the Bay
Looks like Pavel Kubina is headed back to Tampa Bay. A dollar figure hasn't been released yet, but all indications point to a two year deal. EDIT: $7.7 million over two years.

sucks to see him go.
Maybe our best d-man last season.
Even worse to go in division. Though it does make sense, he won a cup in TB.
The southeast division will be interesting this upcoming season.
this concerns me
He wanted a “fair deal” and honestly going from $5mil last year to 3.8mil isn’t bad. Just how low was our offer??
He’s a good player and will be missed. But adding Sopel really filled that roster spot. Kulda is ready for the NHL and adding another D might spook him into playing in the KHL.

Yea I couldn’t count to save myself earlier, without Kubina, Schubert, or Popovic there’s only 6 + Postma/Kulda.

Anyone have any idea how much more recovery time Boris needs?

I will predict that Kulda will have a better career than Valabik. I think Kulda has potential to be a top 4 Ruslan Salei kind of defenseman. I don’t see Valabik every being more than a physical 3rd pairing guy.
