Torchetti Part 1 of 3: On Ramsay and Coaching Philosophy

This is the first of three clips that we'll post over the next couple weeks from our interview with Associate Coach John Torchetti. In this first clip, Torchetti talks a bit about Craig Ramsay, his coaching philosophy, and the work ethic of new Thrasher Andrew Ladd. Enjoy!

Hey nice job! The quality on your new gadget turned out awesome!

Yep! I bought one for my parents awhile back and was impressed enough to get one for myself.

(Flip UltraHD, for those who may be interested.)

Hopefully this is the beginning of much more video content here at BWA.

Nice to hear the passion in Torchetti’s voice. At the very least, we have guys who really give a damn about defense-first hockey. I hope the boys buy in, because that’s the best way to win.

"Hear the passion"

Exactly why we like to get and post audio and video. Wait until you hear him talk about Dudley… (Expect that clip on Saturday.)

In the mean time, make sure you check out the other write-ups from the interview. I’ll try to get some thoughts down this week about Torchetti and camp.

Wow and this is our Associate coach. Have to like the two pieces we have in place on our coaching staff. The idea that coaches are responsible for teaching makes all the sense in the world but is ignored all to often at the NHL level.

Top 10 in every category, really liked the sound of that.

Nice shot of my schnozz.

I really enjoyed being able to interview him yesterday – honestly, it was refreshing to be given such candid answers to the questions we asked. I was extremely impressed.

And I am so doing the Flip. That’s some amazing video quality.

I feel bad that

the team made him meet with all of you. Some way to treat a Stanley Cup Champion. Did anyone ask what would prompt him to leave a championchip team to make a lateral move to a bottom dweller?

Yes

He has a man-crush on Rick Dudley.

I'm hoping at some point...

somebody asked him if we are looking to add a scorer to the line-up or is this the team we’re opening the season with. If so will they hope the D steps up since we have a glut of 3rd and 4th line forwards in front of them.
