Forbes Fail

On Forbes' Most-Losing Pro Sports teams, the Thrashers are listed at No.9, which I guess would be alright with me if their information wasn't so terrible. This is what they said:

"The Thrashers currently have no coach or general manager. Ownership is actively seeking new investors. And their top prospect is facing criminal charges for an on-ice hit. 'Nuff said?"

Forbes made 4 statements here and 2 were wrong. Yes, we don't have a coach but no GM? I guess Rick Dudley died overnight. ASG is seeking investors, but the next statement  is just wrong. Since when is Patrice Cormier our top prospect? What about Jeremy Morin, Carl Klingberg, Vishnevskiy, and Kulda?

I totally agree with you. However, both Dudley and Waddell have overhyped Cormier to the point of ridiculousness. While it is my belief that Cormier will eventually be another Chris Thorburn/Eric Boulton type (low scoring 4th line grinder) in the NHL, keep in mind that Evander Kane, who actually can play the game and is a real talent, wasn’t given the kind of expectations that Cormier is already saddled with . 53 players were taken before Cormier yet Dudley has said he should be a top 6 player (NOT realistic at all, certainly not at this time). So I can’t blame Forbes for picking up on this, but yes, those of us who know better do not regard Cormier as the system’s best prospect.
