Adding Injury to Injury

Evander Kane is out 3 weeks with a fractured foot. Christoph Schubert is out 3-5 weeks with a hip injury. Expect Arturs Kulda or Chris Chelios to be called up this week to help on the blueline. Discuss!

Losing Kane hurts. Losing Schubert helps, but not enough to offset the loss of Kane. Please oh please DW. It’s bad enough that you are never, ever going to lose your job no matter how many times this team fails to make the playoffs. Could you at least NOT re-sign Schubert this summer so Kulda or Postma will have a chance to make the Thrashers?

Kulda is a beast and I can’t wait for him to play here. But I prefer Chelios at this point for his potential to provide stability to this mostly young and inexperienced group of guys. I think we are seeing nerves right now and his wisdom and experience could really help our guys out.

He's really lost a step though

As much as he adds intangible-wise, he negates with being a 48 year old. He’s not your average 48 year old, but there is no way he can be consistently effective anymore at the NHL level. Kulda is young, but he’s smart too. Kubina and Hainsey can be the D mentors.

For all that is holy, dump Popovic and play Kulda already.

On a completely random sidenote...

Anybody know where I might be able to get a customized SEL Frolunda Indians jersey?

Frolunda jersey

Your best bet is probably to try to find one on www.tradera.com- the Swedish E-Bay. They have quite a few SEL jerseys for sale but no VF jerseys at present. Another option would be to contact Hockey Monkey, a US retail store (located near the Honda Center in Anaheim) which has a Swedish outlet. They don’t have SEL jerseys online but might have them in their Swedish store. Contacts from the Swedish page seem to be Player Equipment – Playereu@monkeysports.com or Order Info – +46-8-550 17002 (Ext 4)

Chelios is not a part of this teams on ice future, he has done a good job with the kids in Chicago but he should not take NHL TOI away from Kulda who clearly is a part of the future.

It is time to call up Kulda, sit White and bring up Machacek. Lets see what we have in the kids.
