Chelios Signs, Stays in Chicago for Now

For the moment it looks like a depth move. Chelios is available to be called up. Perhaps this the Thrashers are thinking of trading a defenseman or perhaps not. Both Schubert and Kubian are UFAs this summer. In the case of Kubina, he would need to waiver his NTC to be dealt.

Have any teams expressed interested in these guys? Also, what would really be a realistic asking price for a guy like Kubina? He is a little old but having a pretty good season. I would be sad to see him go but if it is for something worth it, great.

I am just as confused about this whole thing as everyone else is… I hope Waddell isn’t just drunk dialing his buddies and moving hockey players for bodies to warm the penalty box (I heard it is cold in there).

Don't forget the Dudley Factor

Personel moves for the Thrashers are different than in the past. We are working off of past history and need to add the Dudley factor into the discussion.

Ottawa picked up Andy Sutton for a 2nd round pick. Sutton is not now nor has he ever at his best been as good as Kubina, so that should set the bar for what Kubina is worth. Again, as The Falconer points out, Kubina would have to waive his NTC for a deal to happen.
