Reminder: Internet Radio Discussion Tomorrow Morning

Hey folks, just a quick reminder that the crew here from BWA will be discussing what went oh-so-wrong for the Thrashers' playoff hopes and if there's anything we can look forward to in 2010-2011.

You can get to the show right here.

Just a reminder: you can leave questions and comments for us here or call in (to the number provided on the page) during the show.

So, um, how long are you guys going to talk about what went wrong?

I mean, there’s only so much time, and just because we spring forward tomorrow night doesn’t mean that you get an extra hour.

That was an extremely disappointing game. And I’m being very controlled about that.

Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?

Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.

Just in case you can't make the 11:00am show...

Here’s a link to BWA’s 2004 season recap. Pretty much mirrors the 09-10 season.

Really frustrated

Went to the Rangers game tonight, and I was really pissed! They played terrible in the 1st period, better in the 2nd when McArthur scored, and better when Hainsey scored in the 3rd. But they were so sloppy in the 1st and just laying back and letting NY get to the puck, take shots etc.

One of the dumbest things I saw was when NY scored, and then Moose hits the puck out of play and then they go on the pp and score their 2nd goal. Then Moose goes too far right, leaves his left side open, no one covers that side, and Rangers score 3rd.

The 4th goal for them was a really soft goal too. Gaborik and Prospal just made it look too easy. I was thinking of going to a practice on Monday, and now, not sure I want to because of their sh***y play tonight.

Here's something to discuss

Assuming that the Thrashers finish well out of the playoff race, I predict that within days of the regular season ending that DW will fire Anderson in a poorly disguised attempt to deflect blame and save his own job. Waddell will say something about how the organization really liked Anderson and wanted this to work, but the bottom line is that he had maybe the best team on paper in team history and didn’t come close to making the playoffs. Also, he’ll mention how it’s unfair, but the players never really bought into the system and how ultimately it’s a coaching failure when that happens.

The one thing this org is good at is making excuses, so I would figure you are close to the mark there.

I am sure the Kane, Schubert, Valabik, and I assume the upcoming announcement that Bogosian played all season with a broken hand or something absurd along those lines is going to get trotted out as well, along with how many one goal games we lost.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is what our owners think. It is pretty clear to me these guys are in complete and total denial about just how dire the situation is. While it appears they do not care, they just think they are smarter than everyone else in the entire hockey community and have deluded themselves into thinking that this team really is on its way to being the next great NHL dynasty….when in reality we will likely be battling the Panthers for 4th in the division for the foreseeable future unless drastic changes are made.

Honestly, does anyone really see us challenging Washington, Carolina, or even Tampa with Hedman and Stamkos over the next decade?

I think there’s a 50/50 chance Waddell gets the ax and Dudley gets the full-title gig…

Ax ’em all!!! Top to bottom. Waddell, Dudley (who I actually do still like), Anderson, the trainers, the secretaries, the guy that runs whatever coffee shop they go to in the morning…

The org has been fantastic at making excuses and deflecting blame. That needs to change and an entire front office shake up is the only way for it to happen. We have some talent on the ice and may someday contend with Stamkos and Hedman (Kane and Bogo) but it cant happen with the Thrashers in their current trajectory.

For the past 3 seasons, I believed Waddell was going to get canned within a week after the final game of the season; what’s so different now? Has Bruce Levenson, et al, discovered a working brain?

Cant add a comment to the radio site

Don’t you have to decide on the coaching/Mgmt staffs before you start talking about players? Doesn’t make sense to bring in a player who’s not going to fit the new regime’s system.

In my opinion, Anderson has to go. Losses are one thing, no urgency, lack of effort, inconsistency are unacceptable.
