Christensen Dealt to Anaheim!

In the catagory of "very unexpected" the Thrashers have managed to get a decent return for NHL bust Erik Christensen. Early reports have Atlanta receiving a 2nd rounder and propect O'Dell. I'll have more on this later this evening after I do some research.

I’ve done some quick reading on O’Dell, and this looks like a good move for the Thrashers. Let’s hope we get to see this kid play in Atlanta, and not on NHL Center Ice after the team relocates.

No second rounder with O’dell. He was Anaheim’s second round pick last year.

Sad to see a fellow Whale fan think this....

He is as soft as a pile of laundry and couldn’t hit two empty nets if they were side-by-side. Great trade for the Thrash. In 2 years he will be in the line-up.

Christensen has been a bust ever since he showed up. His presence on the team just reminded everyone of how in over his head Waddle seems sometimes. Good riddance. He’ll probably go on to be the Ducks highest scorer.

Why do you call Christensen an NHL bust? Overvalued at the trade, yes, but at least Armstrong turned out to be a keeper. I think Christensen is great at stick handling and can really score if given an open lane, problem is he was usually on a line with Kovy who needs the exact same thing. If Christensen were paired with a physical forward I think he’d do pretty well, a 2nd or 3rd liner on most teams.

Christensen blew more failed to convert more goal scoring opportunities than anyone this year. That’s enough reason to call him a bust. It is amazing how many times he shot the puck wide after a great set up pass.
