Ben Wright pointed to James Mirtle's list of how many games each team plays in December. The Thrasher have 15 contests and play every other day, but they are only middle of the pack. Montreal and Ottawa each play 17 times this month.

Having 2 goaltenders that are playing well at the moment should be a huge assist during this run. It’ll be interesting to see how Kovalchuk (foot) and Kane hold up during this span.

Perhaps its just me but it appears as if Kane has been a target of the opposition so far this season. Not sure if it’s because of the style of game he plays or because he’s a rook (perhaps a combo of both?) but he seems to find himself with a bullseye on his back for hits. Will we see him finally start to wilt in this stretch? Much has been made of his slight build. Can he take this pounding?

Very good point about the goaltenders. With 15 games there will likely be some nights when the team has a poor period—if the goalies can keep them in the game they will still have a shot at earning points even if they are tired.

I think that the big key is that we have 2 goalies playing well during this stretch. 1 hot goalie might get burned out from overuse with playing every other day. Depth is a nice luxury to have.
