Holy Cow. Well there goes any trade value for this season.

At least he won’t pull his groin for the next few weeks.

And there's more....

From Thrashers’ PR Dept, via Ben Wright:

Kari Lehtonen underwent successful back surgery on Friday, Oct. 30 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. The procedure, which was performed by neurosurgeon, Dr. Paul Maurer, was to remove edges of bone that were applying pressure to nerve roots in his back at two locations that were different than that of his original disc surgery on July 20. He will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.

Wow. Just……. wow.

Being a Thrashers fan - it's kind of like being punk rock in a hick town.

Excellent news. Hopefully they found the issue. No goaltending controversy this season. Moose is coming off contract and Kari, if healthy, should be able to be retained at a bargain price to play backup. Money saved to retain free agents and extend Little/Bogosian.

Waste waste waste. We could’ve had Bowmeester.

Enjoy your last few months in Atlanta, Donut Boy. Make sure you stop by the Krispy Kreme before they ship you out.

He’ll never play for the Thrashers again.

He needs to play for us again. He has no trade value if he doesn’t play for us.

…and we could have watched Bouwmeester leave for Canada just like Florida :(
Actually the guy we could have had was Rick Nash who has been impressing me more this season with his 2 way play.

Heatley, Kovalchuk and Nash? Oh my.

But with Nash’s blunder in the WC and Kovy finishing it for the Russians, would they still get along? :P
