Notes after the jump.

Star-divide

Kings Notes:

Jonathon Quick in net for LA tonight. Quick was yanked after giving up 3 third period goals in Chicago and was benched for the Kings' 5-2 win over Carolina on Wednesday. Quick has a .867 save percentage and 3.00 GAA over his last 4 games.

Speaking of the win in Carolina, waiver-wire pickup Randy Jones picked up a goal, an assist, and quite a few new nicknames over at Battle of California in his first game as a King.

Draft classmates and fellow defensemen Zach Bogosian and Drew Doughty line up against each other for the second time in their young careers. Bogo had 3 assists to Doughty's two in last year's matchup in LA.

The Kings bring a 7th ranked power play (23.1%) into Phillips tonight, but their PK is hurting (74.3%, 29th). I smell another 2-5 night on the power play for the Thrashers.

Thrashers Notes:

With three points last night against the rangers, Rich Peverley broke his 3 game points "slump" (1 pt in 3 games). The man signs a big deal and thinks he can slack, is that what this is?

Seems calling out some Rangers did wonders for their scoresheet last night, so let's go with this: Slava Kozlov, Nik Antropov and Marty Reasoner are all goal-free 15 games in.

Ondrej Pavelec is in net tonight for the Thrashers, having sat out the last two games. Pavs is facing LA for the first time.

The Thrashers are an encouraging 2-0 on the second night of back-to-back games, both wins coming with travel in between.

Who's going to Philps tonight?

Bryan Little Out

Curious as to what the lines will look like. I’d vote:

Kovy – Nik – Max
Kane – Pevs – Armdog
Kozy – Reasoner – White
Boulton – Slater – Thorburn

Wish I could be there! Flying from Milwaukee to Washington DC in about 30 minutes. I call it 6-4 Thrashers.

3 star selections

why havent the players been skating out recently? neither kovy nor maxim skated out tonight, and the last game i went to, the only ATL star, enstrom, didnt skate out either. it’s kind of an FU to the fans when they stay late to cheer for the stars and no one comes out.
